Looking into the archive of photos for today's shots, I came to the conclusion that June 16th must be "Falls" day on the Pasty Cam. We visited the Hungarian Falls with Jeff Kalember back in 2004, only he was taking pictures of the people he was with, taking pictures. It looks like they're at the bottom of one of the Falls, with a small cascade off on the side, too.

Then in 2011, Marsha Galbraith took us to a Falls I have never had the pleasure of seeing in person, so it must go on my "bucket list" for sure. That's the Powerhouse Falls in the second photo, which is located just a few miles south of L'Anse. There are actually a series of falls along the Falls River there, this being the largest of them.

Moving ahead a few years to 2014, Ed Kerr was visiting the Copper Country and hiked to the Hungarian falls like the folks in the first photo did, only Ed took his picture of the cascade of falls pouring over the rock wall. It's kind of warm as I'm typing this, so that waterfall looks like a refreshing place to cool off.

A visit to any of the area falls is a treat, with photos of them helping to preserve the memory of being there. Only thing, there's something missing in the photographs and that's the sound of the water as it makes its way over and down the banks. Your video treat for today will fill that need, though, with the sights and sounds of the Powerhouse and Power Dam Falls in L'Anse, recorded by Jonathan Katje. Now the only thing missing is the spray of the water... get closer to your screen and maybe you'll feel it :)

I liked that video because the person, taking it, was not jumping around to different things.....it gave me some time to enjoy the falls. :O)

I love the sight and sounds of the water tumbling down the falls and into the pool below. Soothing, so very soothing.

Somehow I find today's subject very fitting … I wonder why that is?
