The archives over the past 19 years have been filled with water, it's a wonder we haven't had a flood here on the Pasty Cam! Thankfully it's just water photographed by folks like Becky Howard (Charlie and Edie's daughter). Back in 2000, someone had made a request for a photo of the Mouth of the Montreal river and falls here in the Keweenaw, so Becky and her "search party" made the trek there and brought back this beautiful view of what Charlie described back then as, "...a perfect day in the merry month of May."
The second photo is also a shot of the Montreal River, but not the one in the Keweenaw. This one is on the western end of the U.P., north of Ironwood along the Michigan/Wisconsin border. Nate Alwine was there in 2007 and referred to this river as the Montreal Canyon. He said it is three miles long and those cliff walls rise up to 300 feet on both side of the river, thus the "Canyon" handle.
We're going to go whitewater rafting on this very river today, something I've always thought looked fun, but have been too chicken to try. The video description says that they put in below Saxon Falls and ran the Montreal River Canyon to highway 122. It mentions this being an awesome run, adding that their group included a raft, a canoe and a kayak... equality for all boats!

Absolutely, too cool video and pix! But, like UC always says; "Where's the banjo." :-)

Here's a picture of the mouth of the Keweenaw Montreal I took from the opposite direction by boat in July of 2016.
Hi For the benefit of us trolls, where in the Keweenaw is the Montreal River? Yesterday's post had a discussion about a fault line and the Montreal River.

I saw places in that video that fish don't belong in, let alone people. Nice to look at though.

I should be in the Soo this evening, American Spirit is passing thru the Lock's right now. Whenever I'm in the Soo on business, it seems like the American Spirit is there. I've been following her travels since. I also miss following the Arthur Anderson!!
