This year marks the start of our 20th year here at Pasty Central, so over the past 19 years, we've shared innumerable U.P. photos. A good number of them include bridges, so today we're going to look back at a few that were shared in the past on this date. We start with a memorial bridge in Dollar Bay, photographed by Paul Roberts in 2008. It's located near the Veteran's baseball field, spanning a water filled ditch and leading to the Dollar Bay Veterans Honor Roll. The bridge was designed by Dennis Lahikainen and is dedicated to Samuel H. Sowka, Lt. Col. 1919-2004. Great way to honor their home town men and women.
Another bridge on this day appeared back in 2009, taken while crossing the Portage Lift Bridge. Looks quite similar to what it looks like on the Lift Bridge right now, since there's construction and lane closures at present, while they do some work on the roadway. Back then it was due to a construction project in downtown Houghton.
The last bridge we visit here today, was featured back in 2013 when Steve Haagen and family visited Bond Falls in Ontonagon County. The kiddos look pretty excited to be out of the car and moving. Spring is probably the optimum time to visit any of the U.P. falls, since they're running at their highest then.
Since we can't all hop in the car for a visit to Bond Falls today, we're sharing a video slideshow from Robert Crane. You'll get a good feel of the trails to get there and the flowage itself. No running over bridges required!

Nice video-slide show, but moved a little to fast from scene to scene. Not enough time to take it all in.

p.s. The Bond Falls people need to use spell check!
Also noted that the one sign says you need a "Recreation Passport". That is new since we've been there, which admittedly, has been a few years now.
