Back on March 1st, we began a new format for the Pasty Cam as we started off our 20th year, that was almost two months ago already, my how time truly does fly. We hope you're enjoying exploring our archive of photos, with a new photo sprinkled in every few days and especially the video escapes every day.
The look back today starts off in 2010, when Brenda Leigh (who was still a resident of Menominee at that time) spotted an unusual visitor in someone's front yard, so she quickly snapped a couple shots. She said that's all she could take, before the horse came to see what she was doing there. Check out the two windows in the top photo…the resident cats are checking out the large four-legged visitor, too.
In the 2008 archive photo that Marsha Galbraith shared, you see a typical spring woodland scene, except there are a few "hidden" visitors watching her, watching them. Can you spot the deer?
It's almost time for the visitor season to begin again at Mackinac Island, so that means it's time to bring the horses back for their summer jobs. The Grand Hotel shares this video of the horses coming off the ferry this past week. They look rested and ready to clip-clop through the summer season.

Cool pix of the horses and the deer. I saw a video
on the Mackinac Island horses a while back on, I
believe, PBS. Very interesting.

Makes me wish I were a horse so I could spend the entire summer on Mackinac Island! Lucky beasts!
