Kids that grow UP in the Copper Country learn at a young age how to get where they're going. Looking back through the years, we found some proof of that. The two youngsters in the top photo from 2010 are my grandkids, learning about hard work on the farm and how to drive the vehicles, too. Cuties even if I do say so myself.
Also found a family of entrepreneurs from the Marquette area, back in 2012. Laura Gauthier's gang decided to make themselves a lemonade stand, complete with a pail for tips. If you look closely, you can see one of the workers sipping away some of the profits.
Speaking of kids that are going places, the guys in the third photo make up the newly formed Team Copper Country, a local Midget team made up of the top of the area high school hockey players, who just this week won the National Championship in Lansing. These young men tried out and were chosen to make up the team, working hard to be in tip-top shape and ready to defeat every team that came their way, to make it to the top of the heap.
Today’s featured video was posted by Dave Ellis, in which you can enjoy the five goals from the championship game with radio calls from Tyler Vertin and Scott Mikesch on K-Bear 102. Way to go Team Copper Country! We're all YOOPER PROUD!!

Way to go Team CC.
2012 Lemonade Stand? I don't see any openly displayed business permit.
Mary says: D.A. (Midwested) - Sure it's there... it's on the left side of the stand toward the top!

We weren't able to post this video that Team Copper Country made themselves, but thought I'd share the link for those that would like to check it out. It shows highlights, interviews and the work they put into being National Champions. It was recorded before the Championship game.
Great Pix and Video's, Mary, thanks for putting both in there, future Huskies and Wildcats perhaps????.... Maybe the Wing Wheel!!! I hope all those young men had the proper heart exam as part of their physicals!!
UC I heard a report that the Anderson will sit out this season. It was reported she needs work to pass her 5 year inspection.
