So many pictures over the years are embedded in memory, especially those early days of the Pasty Cam. The tall miner at Vulcan, Big John, appeared on this day in 2000, taken by another Jon, Jonathan Hopper. We've included here the current photo from ironmountainironmine.com. Also thanks to Jason Asselin for sharing his exploration near that location, up the hill, back in the woods. It won't be long until the snow clears and such adventures can be resumed. Tours at the mine will resume on the Friday after Memorial Weekend.

We went on that mine tour 40 years ago, while in college. Amazing how large the main part of the mine is.

Good to see the guy doing the video is being careful! Kinda odd that they have a few signs but nothing else in the area about the mine or buildings. Has anyone been over there?
