Spring, spring, spring, looking back in the archives we've shared a number of variations of what spring is here in the Keweenaw on April 3rd throughout the past 19 years. Some with more snow, some with less snow, some showing the meltdown, like Joyce Tormala's shot from 2006. Quite amazing detail of the reflections in that melting drip!
Other years the snow was for the most part melted and gone, shown in this 2010 photo taken by Dotsie Dorothy Stewart in front of her Bootjack home. She was definitely thinking spring and Easter, having decorated her tree with colorful eggs and bright lawn décor, too.
When the snow melts, you never know what you'll find. Connie Mandoli shared a good example of that back in 2012, when she was doing some exploring on her Traprock Valley property and came across this old relic. Other viewers identified it as a 1959 Rambler and pondered the stories this car could tell, if only it could talk.
To round out the spring time thaw, today's video takes us on a time lapse (quite speedy) tour around the Houghton area, with the canal ice melting away, the streets bare and wet and the skies ranging from sunshiny blue to cloudy gray. Enjoy the tour...

Nice set! I counted 753 cars and 18 bicycles in the video. (I just picked up new glasses.)

All neat pictures today. I like the Easter tree. That is sure to get the Easter Rabbit's attention if he should happen to have trouble with his built in GPS.

I really liked the spring melt. The video was strange, but that's just me. Supposed to be in the 60's here in MN by the weekend. Can't wait!

Nice review and video, Alex, 754 cars and only 16 bicycles, not use to those Trifocals yet eh? :)

UC...how'd you guess? Trifocals it is, and the next step is another pair of eyeballs surgically implanted into my forehead. :-(

I really like the Easter tree too. I have a friend who decorates branches with Easter eggs she colors with friends and family. A nice tradition.
