Here in the Copper Country removing the snow from the streets in town is often a daily ritual. With the "feet of snow" we receive at a time, it takes a well oiled machine to get the job done. Sue Haralson takes us back to 2002, where the Lake Linden Village crew was busy with their snow removal from the main street in the early morning hours.
Ten years later, Barb Bouwkamp was out this same day in 2012, only the sun was shining and the streets in Laurium had already been widened. The snow plow then came along and started filling the sides of the street (and driveways) once again.
The cities and villages here UP North have the equipment and know-how to make the job of clearing the roadways quicker and easier, that's for sure. It's almost like a dance between the SnoGo and the dump trucks as you can see in today's video clip of the Laurium crew in 2014, cleaning up First Street in front of Nina's restaurant.

Love the video of the Sno-Go! I wish they'd learn how to do that out here, but I guess we don't get the snow that you guys get UP there. Still, it'd come in handy after a blizzard. Those guys do a great job keeping the snowbanks down. I so commend them.

Quite the operation. I wonder if they draw straws to see who gets to drive the front-end loader.

Great video of the Sno Go ~ it sure doesn't take long for them to fill up a dump truck, does it?
