"Looking at the other pictures for this day, the fire in 2003 caught my eye. …"
Donna (Donna):
"I will never forget that day/fire …"
And likewise, I will never forget the many fires during my six years at da Tech that destroyed the beautiful old Kerridge Theatre …
… in spite of the valiant efforts of the local volunteer firefighters! Also those fires that destroyed nearly whole blocks of beautiful downtown Houghton and Hancock in severe winter fire fighting conditions, again in spite of the valiant efforts of the local volunteer firefighters!

Oops, I forgot; here, from (click →) Copper Country Reflections, is a color picture of ye olde (click →) Kerridge Theatre and the old Scott Hotel¹ (looking west on Quincy Street) the Kerridge theater is the second picture on the page.
¹Beginning in 2006, the former Scott Hotel underwent a $4.2 million renovation to create 28 apartment units for low-income seniors. The renovation was completed and the apartments opened for occupancy in December 2007.
