There are a number of ways to stay active and warm on chilly winter days here UP North. Ed Korpi and his wife, Laurie Bashaw like to strap on their snowshoes and go exploring, where they get the benefit of the exercise, but also take in all the beauty that surrounds them on their adventures.
Today they take us to Presque Isle Park in Marquette with some picturesque views Ed snapped while they made their way around the island. You can see that Lake Superior isn't all iced to the shores around the park, but it looks like there is some chunky ice floating around in the wave action going on this day. I always find it interesting how different the faces of Lake Superior can be in all seasons. Completely iced over in some places and then others just floating ice, with waves still rolling in to shore. The beauty here in the North Country abounds.
