Early Sunday evening, Cathy McKenzie took a ride out to Calumet Waterworks Park seeking beauty and peacefulness. One look at the photos from that excursion proves that she found what she was looking for. With ice covering the shoreline out just about as far as the eye can see, there are no waves crashing in, so everything is quiet and calm.
Cathy said she was out there for about an hour, with her fingers beginning to get quite cold due to the brisk wind, but she knew from the earlier colored ribbons in the sky, that if she just stuck it out there a little longer, she would be rewarded with a beautiful sunset. I for one am glad she stayed, because that last photo was the "icing on the cake" for sure. I just hope her fingers have warmed up by now!

I like the picture of the snow covered steps down to the ice covered sea. It's easy for me to say because they weren't my fingers but extremely cold fingers is a small price to pay to enjoy a sunset like that one.

Very nice. I especially like the stairway one. Very cool. I hope her fingers have thawed out!
