Taana Kalliainen was out on her lunch break from work enjoying the Keweenaw sunshine and she snapped two shots of landmarks that most people recognize right away. The Portage Lift Bridge is always a pleaser, no matter the season, but this shot with the blue sky and white ice sure makes it stand out a bit more.
Her second view is another instantly recognized Keweenaw spot if you're familiar with the area…Mont Ripley Ski Hill. It's so neat to see the various ski runs coming down the hill from a distance like this and the sunshine just makes everything so much brighter. No snow making machines needed this time of year!
Speaking of hills, Judy Byykkonen's granddaughter found a dandy one for sledding, near her Laurium home. It looks like a good climb up to the top, but oh the joy when you slide down fast to the bottom. I bet there was plenty of laughter and squealing on the way down. Hmm... it looks like Grandma climbed to the top to snap that last photo. I wonder if she slid down squealing, too.

Beautiful sunny Winter days with lots of snow for the sledders!

How fun for kids when you can slide down hills in
your own yard. And the first 2 pictures are always
welcome sights.
Thanks!

Looks like someone almost hit the tree on the left and had to bail out on a previous run.
