Joy Ziemnick is at it again, out exploring with her camera in hand, but this time she went on a snowshoe adventure out to the first icy edge of Lake Superior in Cedar Bay. It doesn't take long for the ice to build UP when the temperatures are as cold as they've been here in the Keweenaw the past couple weeks.
Interesting ice circles in Joy's third photo, floating amongst the chunky ice not yet frozen to the shoreline. And in the third photo, there's an arch with icicles formed like fangs hanging down. Nature's artistic talents.
On the way back home, Joy met up with a group of deer that were out and about, too. They don't look too fazed by her showing up. Maybe they knew that the only shooting she'd be doing was with her camera!

The deer were probably hoping she had some treats for them in her pockets! Nice picture of the ice doughnuts.

Cool pictures. After looking at the first four pictures I thought the last picture would be polar bears instead of deer. I like the ice formation picture.
