Chris Gariepy and his family took advantage of the New Year's Eve day sunshine and headed out on snowshoes to explore their property in the Lake Linden area. What a gorgeous day it looks to be, too, with the untouched snow lying there ahead of them.
Once they started making tracks, their snowshoes disappeared in the deep, fluffy snow. Even the dog, Stella, was in on the trek around the homestead, only she didn't need snowshoes, she just made her own trails wherever she wanted to sniff next.
What a great way to say goodbye to the old year and begin welcoming the new one!

I talked with the MTU webmaster and they added a download button, in the upper right corner of the video.

Beautiful pictures and fun with the critters! Great way to start 2017!
Just catching up (our family Christmas dinner was on New Years, so everything is a week late!) Charlie, i really enjoyed your tribute to Edie; brought tears to my eyes. What a blessing she was to so many people's lives, especially her family.

Hi Downstate, we have wet grass. A friend was telling me at lunch that she missed an opportunity to learn snowshoeing--I guess a nearby state park was going to provide free equipment and a lesson, but the weather didn't cooperate.
