Winter is filled with beauty amongst the cold and snow and Barb Bouwkamp captured some of the wintry art you can find when you stop and look around. She starts with our winter friend Jack Frost's artwork, or maybe that's his graffiti that he fills up cold windows with this time of year. Only difference with his graffiti and the spray painted type is that Jack's isn't permanent, which in some cases is sad, since the designs are quite intricate and pleasing to the eye.
Barb's second artsy winter form is the common icicles you find suspended from the roof edges of U.P. buildings when the sun comes out and melts a bit of the snow on your roof. Versatile, they are especially appealing to youngsters. I recall as a kid pretending they were popsicles and enjoyed them as a winter treat. Now as an adult, I just enjoy the way they catch the sun with some being opaque, while others are transparent, reflecting the sun through and creating a colorful spectrum. If you look closely at Barb's last photo you can see a hint of one across the middle where the sun shines brightly across. Simple winter beauty!

Those are really great pictures. I like the pictures of Mr. Frost's artwork. He is rather a creative sort.

Classy glass! My first guess was that these must be from Dr. Nat and Capt.'s house. :-)
