When Jean Dessellier wants to see animals in their natural habitat, she just looks out her window, since there always seem to be several around her Lake Linden home. That's one healthy looking doe she caught looking at her as she's looking back with her camera lens. Nice coloring of her coat this time of year, too.
Another visitor to Jean's backyard has become more common around the Keweenaw in the past few years. We didn't used to see wild turkeys around too often, but that's certainly changed and Jean snapped a nice looking one on camera. You can really see the color and detail in the head and feathers on this bird. Nice capture, Jean!
The last photo is from my husband, Jim Drew's game camera. Here again it's a first for our animal spotting station. We've never had turkeys on the camera before, so it was fun to see this small flock pass by for several frames of photos. We're wondering now if they'll be regular visitors or if they were just passing through.

I always enjoy critter pictures. These are nice ones this morning. It's nice to see turkeys as residents of our forests.
