Barb Bouwkamp doesn't let a little cold weather and icicles get in her way when she wants to explore. She headed down the wooded trail to Louis Point, finding some iced up branches along the way. Barb reported that this is about a two mile walk from their place at Big Traverse and that the ground there is really spongy, kind of rough and hazardous, too. But it was also quite gorgeous along the way.
On another day, Barb's walk was along Lake Superior's shoreline. Not much ice on the shores at Big Traverse yet either, but Barb said the beach was frozen, which made it the perfect place for a walk, in the brisk air. The waves left some interesting patterns in the frozen sand, along with unique icicle decorations on the driftwood leftover from previous storms. More of Lake Superior's treasures.

Beautiful photos! I especially love the first, with the trail meandering through trees. That would make a nice painting.

Nice to join Barb in a walk thru the woods and beaches.
In the review the prior year's walks, except in 1998, would have required heavy boots!
