Joy Ziemnick, Jim and Sherlock were on the road again, exploring the gems we have right here in the Keweenaw area. On this adventure they made a stop at the Prickett Dam area, where they were all able to stretch their legs and take a bit of a walk. I like how Joy captured the beauty of the scenes with the leaves carpeting the ground and of course Mr. Sherlock, ever anxious and pleased to be with his master, out for a walk.
Their next stop was at the Sturgeon River Gorge area, where Joy snapped a couple of dandy shots of the flowing water in and around there. Beautiful indeed, especially the last photo, where it looks like the falls there are carved right through a bed of rock on the both sides. Reminds me of a cave opening.
I had to chuckle when reading some comments from Joy's friends, who thought Sherlock was having a blast on their adventures and one who asked if she barked and has a furry coat, would they take her along, too!

This takes me back many years. I climbed up the nearby Silver Mountain. If I recall correctly, there was an NMU student that drowned in the gorge in the early 1970's.
