We've had some really warm November days lately and folks have been taking advantage of them by heading to the shores of Lake Superior. Krista Poirier took her boys and a friend to Bucky's, also known as Calumet Waterworks Park, to enjoy the rare beach weather.
The boys had fun with the usual beach activities, minus the swimming part, as it wasn't quite warm enough for that. They had rock skipping contests, looked for interesting rocks and even did some treasure hunting with a metal detector.
While the boys were busy being boys, Krista was looking for interesting photos to snap and found several other visitors to the shoreline. An Asian Ladybug and a Daddy Long Leg spider. Those two insects prove how warm it was that day, as otherwise they'd already be finding their way to shelter for the winter, most likely someone's basement or house.

Looks like the boys are having a grand time on the beach. It could be a long time before they get to enjoy the beach again. Great pictures of youngsters having fun. It is now time.......Will the real Donald Trump please stand up.

The boys playing on the beach of Lake Superior reminds me of camping on the shores of the big lake with a friend of mind,Jim Ziemnick. I want to wish Jim, a former Marine, happy birthday, to the Marines (245th). Jim served our country 2 tours of duty in VietNam in the 60's and I couldn't be more proud of him. When he came home my mother said don't get drunk. I said "Jim just got home from the war. We'll be ok." Happy 245th Jim!

Happy Birthday to the Marines out there who served our country! A shout out to Jim Ziemnick who served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He served honorably. When he came back I went out with him to celebrate and mother said "Don't drink too much". I said "Mom he just came home from the war . We'll watch it". Happy 245th Marine bithday , Jim.

So amazing to be walking the beaches in November and not seeing any snow. It's been such a warm fall here in Minnesota, also. I know I'm enjoying it!
