Chad Johnson captured some of nature's fall decorations on the trees and on the ground. My favorite is the first one. Those mushrooms are growing just perfectly on that cut-off spot of the tree, almost like they're framed there for all to see.
The second photo is pretty neat, too. Those are bunches of moss just growing on the ground. At first I thought they were rocks with moss growing over them. It's neat how the green color stands out so brightly from the brown that covers the forest floor this time of year. Then another tree mushroom, this one acting like a tiny awning over the bark. Chad's last photo is a sign of fall coming to an end, when the leaves are lying on the ground and beginning to fade in color.
Today's last photo was snapped by Roger Peterson, who said he was in the Keweenaw woods near the Cliffs last week when he encountered this reclusive Woods Dinosaur. According to Roger, it stayed around just long enough for him to get a picture. No worries if you're planning an excursion in that area, he said he doesn't think it's dangerous, but just wanted folks to be aware if they're wandering the woods around there.

What wonders there are in the woods if we keep our eyes open to see them!

That woods dinasaur looks like maybe he's been waiting there since the 1908 World Series. Go Cubs.
