Even though Fall color season is for the most part over, there are a few trees with leaves hanging on. But since we've received so many beautiful pictures of the short autumn season, we'll continue here for at least the rest of this week.

Joe Kirkish snapped today's shots on the Cliff Drive in Phoenix. I'm not certain if the water in the first and second photos is called the Cliff Pond, but it seems appropriate. In the second photo, Joe said that's the road to the Cliff Mine cemetery, which certainly poses a problem to anyone wanting to get across that waterhole to go and explore. I wonder how deep that might be there.

In the last photo, I like the wisp of a cloud that seems to be rising from the top of the Cliff like a plume of smoke against that beautiful blue sky. Fall is such a beautiful time of year!

Looks like you'd need your waders to get to the cemetery right now! Thanks Joe, for the beautiful fall color pictures!

Thanks Joe, for these awesome pix and color, it's like almost being there!
If only I could traverse that countryside again.

Last time I crossed that it was about 2.5-3 feet deep.

Kinda knew from that first photo that Joe Kirkish had snapped it. Thanks Joe for all of them!

And it continues to be beautiful.

Beautiful Color!!

By Therese (Therese) on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 - 07:14 am:

I stopped there last summer and took photos of a small
long-legged wader, like a large sandpiper. Some day I
will take my vacation in October to see the glorious
colors of the UP (Duluth can't comepare). Meanwhile,
thank you, Joe, for sharing the beauty.

In September I camped at Fort Wilkins and took a drive
along the base of the cliffs. Where the first photo
was taken there was a small long-legged wader,
something like a sandpiper. Some day I will visit
during color season; meanwhile I will enjoy it through
generous photographers like Joe who share its beauty
with us.
