Sharon Bodenus did the footwork and the shutter work for us to go on a tour of a few of the falls around the Munising area. Her first stop is the Laughing Whitefish falls, located off M-94 about 30 miles from Munising or Marquette, just outside of Chatham. The Autumn colors frame the falls there quite beautifully.
Next stop was at the Munising Falls, which is in Munising, off of H-58…follow the signs for this one. Not so much color surrounding the actual waterfall, but I love the fallen leaves littering the ground around the base of it.
The last waterfall Sharon takes us to is the AuTrain Falls, where she snapped two shots for us to see the flowage there. You can find these falls on M-94 about 10 miles southwest of Munising. If I'm not mistaken, these shots are at the lower falls there. Here again we don't see the surrounding colors, but the fallen leaves that are flowing right along with the rushing water. They look suspended in the flowage and of course there are those leaves that get bunched up on the sides and stuck along the edges. Quite picturesque!
If you want more information on each individual waterfall here today, just go back and click on the name of the falls in each paragraph and it will take you to a separate page about each one. All are beautiful, but that is one of the best pictures i've ever seen of Laughing Whitefish Falls!

I agree with you, Jbuck. We arrived in the U.P. yesterday. The colors around Munising were more vibrant than the ones in Ishpeming. Still, we're in the U.P. with family, and that's what matters the most.
While out for my morning walk, I encountered a few snowflakes. Winter is is the air.

Saw a video on FB today of Tahquamenon Falls and the beauty surrounding it. The colors were spectacular. I honestly couldn't believe it. These pictures are awesome also. The color in MN is pretty, but nothing like the UP. Enjoy it because you have no clue how lucky you are.

Agree, jbuck. That shot of the falls should make the 2017 Pasty Calendar, if they haven't chosen all the ones to be included already.
