Last week’s Shoebox Memory with Joyce and Charles Hart - leaning on the 1930’s car – prompted me to search the Archives for a similar auto we featured in 2003. This Chrysler Airflow made a cameo appearance, courtesy of Kevin Musser’s collection... a scene that captures the feel of winding down the summer, as so many seasonal U.P. residents do this time of year.
In almost 2 decades of doing the daily Pasty Cam, every subject has been elaborated upon with abundant content - in the form of old movies, drone flyovers, immersive photography and other compelling mutli-media. This 5 minute Youtube documentary is a great example, the ‘rest of the story’ behind that old auto in the woods. The culture, history, and beauty of the U.P. has a place in the ‘bigger picture’ of the American Dream and the human experience. We intend to explore that bigger picture in our up-coming year number 20 of the Pasty Cam, which begins in 5 months. Highlighting one photo from the previous 19 years, we hope to provide a richer, more informative experience each day... an expanded ‘glimpse of life in the U.P.’
By the way, the memorial service for Joyce Hart will be this Wednesday in Calumet. Welcome to all of the friends and relatives who have traveled across the country for this special reunion.
And thanks for coming along on Pasty Central's daily journey. Have a good week :o)

What a great vehicle and video! Trying to relate that design to a present-day auto...the PT Cruiser, perhaps?

Thanks, Charlie. I love that car and always enjoy seeing one at a classic car show. The video is great.
