Eric Stewart stopped for a look-see at 7 Mile Point Beach and snapped a few photos to share with us all. Looks like a beautiful spot with both a rocky beach and a not so rocky one.
This property is owned by the Northwoods Conservancy, which is still in the process of raising funds to pay for this 32 acre property, consisting of nearly 2000 feet of Lake Superior shoreline. If the funds cannot be raised, some of the property will have to be sold off to pay for the loan. If you're interested in helping out with the funding, click on the following link for donation options and more information about the property: Help Save 7 Mile Point.
In order for the Conservancy to move forward with the purchase of this parcel of land, they agreed to accommodate the wishes of the surrounding property owners in order to gain easement to the property. Those stipulations are that the property is only open on weekends and holidays from noon until sunset, May 15th to October 15th. There is a user fee to help pay the mortgage for the property, either purchased annually or by the day. The link above has all that information, too.
