Jeff Fuller snapped the first two photos from the upper floor of the Magnusson Hotel in Houghton. A great vantage point to get a group photo of the Duesenberg cars that were touring the Keweenaw.

The remaining photos were taken by Barb Bouwkamp in Calumet, near the Theatre. Barb did some Internet research and found that they are made in the USA. She said that in 2013 the SJ Convertible Coupe Duesenberg sold for 4.5 million dollars. Wow, that's a lot of Benjamins! It sure is neat to be able to see a caravan of these well cared for old cars and the people that own them, out enjoying their ride.

Wow...that is a lot of moolah! I wonder how much money in total, is parked in those lots.

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 - 12:07 pm:

Fantastic photos and really cool cars! Looks like they're being driven too and not trailered.

That blue coupe/convertible is my fave too, but I'd be afraid to drive it if it's worth that kind of money! Someone might run into me!

Man, those are some sleek looking rides. I'm thinking there won't be one in my future though.

PastyCam has been treated to some mighty fine cars over the past few days. Just as a side note; yes, Duesenburgs were built in the US, first in Minnesota where they built only engines, then eventually Indiana where they started building cars. If you ever find yourself near Auburn, Indiana, a must visit is the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum where you can see these cars on display.

Interesting to see these beauties, I happen to live about 5 miles from Auburn Indiana. Every Labor day weekend they host the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Festival, it is very common to see these cars all around town. There is also a very large classic car auction associated with the festival that brings close to 100,000 people to the area.

I'd never heard of them, much less saw one prior
to this!!! And that one photo makes ya think
there's a butler/driver someplace! HOLY WHA EH!!

By Mel, MN (Mehollop) on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - 09:31 am:

Capt. Paul - that museum has been on my "I really oughta do that someday" list for a long, long time - we drove by it every time we went to my grandparents homes.

Still haven't been there - so it's great to see these photos of the cars out and about.

Love the oldies! So rich in history and takes your imagination
to the good old days! I've ridden in a few different ones and
such an experience! Would have been fun to see these!
