When Bob Williams picked this past Sunday to stop for a tour of the Delaware Mine, he had no idea they'd enjoy the bonus of a string of touring Model A's lined UP there to visit the Mine, also. What a great bonus to see all these restored vehicles UP close and personal like this. So bright and colorful, all waxed and shining, they make quite a statement. My favorite is the blue truck, with the two-tone green/black Model A a close second. What a fun way to tour around the U.P., after working so hard to keep these old gems on the road and running well.

Bob also added a couple photos at the Delaware Mine, the shaft entrance and an info board telling the story behind the Delaware Mine. He added that he guesses he was just lucky to have stopped there the same day as the Model T owners. You never know what you're going to find when you visit the Keweenaw.

It was Bob's lucky day to get such a bonus while visiting the mine. I'm partial to the blue truck also. Personally I'd rather see the old vehicles than the mine, which is not an indictment against the mine.

Those are some gently loved and cared for autos! I especially like the T-tops.

Thanks for posting my pictures, mary. I thought these were model A cars. I noticed a few of them had a sticker that said Superior A's. When they left they all drove by me as I was taking pictures and honked aahooga. One said they were on their way to the Quincy Mine next. Bob Williams

Mary says: My mistake, Bob, my eyes must have read T instead of the A you had in your email with the photos. You're right, they are Model A's. Sorry for the goof-up, I fixed it in my notes now.

I don't know one from the other but they sure are beautiful old cars!

I agree with Bob, I think those are Model A Fords. (I had a friend who owned both a Model T and a Model A. Driving the Model T was confusing, frightening, and exhilarating at the same time). No matter what model, it is nice seeing such classics being driven and enjoyed in the beautiful Keweenaw!

I had two model A's when I was younger (much younger!) My 1st was a 1930 two door soft top with the rumble seat, yellow with black fenders. my 2nd was a 1928 two door sedan. Light blue with black fenders. Don't I wish I'd have them now! I paid $20 for the first one and when the frame cracked I traded Alec Antilla for the sedan he had in the yard. Course I had use the motor from the 1st one. Those were some good days. Lived in Tamarack Mills them days.

It's nice to see them restored to stock. :)
Down here in Alabama, people tend to garbage them up. :(
