Today's photos were sent in by Janie Thomson, better known here on the Pasty Cam as Janie T.(Bobbysgirl). Her hubby. Bob Thomson was the guy behind the camera, as he and Janie's twin brothers made their annual UP motorcycle trip. The guys left their home in eastern Iowa on Sept. 9th and headed north, stopping first in Milwaukee, WI, then on to Manitowoc, WI, visiting museums along the way. On Sunday, Sept. 11th, they set off on their Goldwings and Dyna Low Rider, for Sault Ste. Marie, with a pit stop in Escanaba. The highlight of their stay at the Soo was a sightseeing boat tour that took them through the locks, where Bob snapped today's photos. The guys also enjoyed getting right up close to all the boats coming and going and were lucky that the locks were quite busy with boat traffic during their stay there.
Bob and his brother-in-laws hopped back on their motorcycles to head back home on Tuesday, making a stop in Appleton, WI for a night and then arrived back in Iowa on Wednesday. Janie reports that the guys had a wonderful time and the Soo Locks will be on their list again for another of their annual UP motorcycle vacations. Sounds like a great way to tour the U.P.
