Sharon Bodenus shares a couple shots of the Marquette Lighthouse here today. The first one from an angle not as often photographed. Sharon said that since the Coast Guard transferred the lighthouse property back to the City of Marquette (back in June), she is now able to go down to this beach and take photos. She added that she's wanted to do this for a long time, as she loves the red rocks in the photo.
It looks like no matter what angle you snap pictures of this Lake Superior beacon of safety, you're going to get a beauty with the sky and clouds or the shoreline surrounding it. Add in the sunrise and you have a winner for sure.
During that same sunrise event, Sharon also snapped a photo of a small boat making its way across Lake Superior near the lighthouse. She added that the clouds were so amazing that morning and how she would have loved to be the in that boat as it zipped along under this beautiful sky and shimmering water. And I'd love to be right there alongside her, too!
Oh..my..gosh! These are some of the most beautiful pictures I have seen of Marquette. They were captured just right. Thanks so much for brightening the morning.

I agree...these are fantastic pix! I've been away for a while...MS flare-up put me in the hospital for a couple of weeks, but back home now and feeling much better. It feels great to be back with my "Past Family Friends"...I really missed you guys and gals. And it's good to once again, see these great pix of the place I love the most.

Great pictures of the Mother of all lakes. A much better aspect of Marquette than the condos that should be entered in an ugly contest.

Alex, Uncle Chuck and I just had a conversation about you and that you've been MIA for a bit. We even searched the Internet to try to find a contact number for you and Uncle Chuck was going to stop by and check on you when he's back home again. We figured something was not right, but sure glad to hear that you're feeling much better again. Welcome HOME!

Thanks Mary and Uncle Chuck for the concern, and as I said before; "It feels great to be back with my Past Family Friends".

So good to have you back Alex! And sorry that the reason for your time away was a visit to the hospital. We pray things have settled down and you are much better now. We missed you and your wry sense of humor!!

Oops, sorry, I meant "Pasty Family Friends", not "Past Family Friends". :-(

You're back in the saddle, Alex!
At first i thought the 1st picture was flopped because of the unusual angle. She looks pretty, no matter angle you take.

Alex, glad you're outta the hospital and I hope you're feeling better!! I spoke with Mary as she mentioned when I was in Marquette earlier this week. Your post is timely, I was coming to see if I could be of assistance in helping you get around? Please let me know if I can help in any way! Welcome Back man!!
Thanks UC, I appreciate your concern. I bouncing back rather quickly and I should be back to work this weekend if all goes well. My rehab was at Beaumont North, 7th floor rehab unit, perhaps your familiar with it. It is an incredible facility.

Yes it is INCREDIBLE, you're rehabbing in one of the best in the country! Beaumont is my # 1 account. If I can help in anyway with equipment to enhance your ease of mobility, or a ride to/from any where, give me a shout!
Excuse my personal email here Pasty folks, not trying to take away from today's fantastic photos from Sharon!!
You've captured good pics of some U.P. beauty.

What beautiful angles for photographing the lighthouse. You can almost imagine that it is located in the wilderness not in the middle of Marquette. I think that much of the rest of the property is still off limits until the city decides exactly what to do with it.
