When the Keweenaw wind is howling, Lake Superior is a-growling! That's what she was doing recently when Melanie Hakala Rossi was UP near the Keweenaw tip. The Big Lake was tossing and turning like only she can do.
Melanie made a trek out to Horseshoe Harbor, too, which is out past Copper Harbor on the Keweenaw tip. The rock along the shoreline there is massive, as you can see in the 5th photo. That's Melanie's friend, David standing on that shoreline between the two walls of rock. I know I've said this before, but it still always amazes me how different Lake Superior's shoreline can be from one location to another. Both the Lake and her shores are something special.
