Today's "freighter fix" photos come to us from Robert Jewell. He took his daughter and son-in-law fishing in his boat and after an unsuccessful day, were on their way back to his cottage when they saw the Cason Callaway docked at Port Dolomite, near Ceaderville. Robert said that it is difficult to see freighters at Port Dolomite, except by boat, so he decided to take a run over closer to give his crew a better view of the Callaway.
The photos were snapped by Alice and Dave Brunelli, Robert's daughter and her husband. So even though they came back empty handed in the fish department, they still had a number of "good catches" with their camera.
I had never heard of this port on the far eastern end of the U.P. before and had no clue where it was, until Robert sent in these photos. Even after thirteen years, it still surprises me how much we learn about the U.P. here on the Pasty Cam when viewers decide to share their photos with us all.

I love looking at freighter pictures. We snapped some while we were in Duluth 2 weekends ago. I just never tire of seeing them. There were 3 out in the harbor waiting to enter. But with the tall ships there, it was a busy place.
Thanks for showing us your pictures. And, by the way, I am SO not ready for September. Sad!

I too, am on the list of those that had no knowledge that this port existed. Thanks for sharing this "Jewell" so to speak.

We found out about Port Dolomite the hard way ~ kinda wandered into a restricted area by mistake. We never knew it was there either!
Great pictures and some interesting shots in the review!
