Over in the Little Lake area, Sharon Bodenus has been out with her camera come rain or come shine, snapping up the beautiful flowers that abound during the summer months here UP North.
Her first two shots were taken after a rainfall, but before the drops had evaporated away. Wet with a recent rain like that, makes me think about how thirsty for water these beautiful blooms must get and how they must just drink the coolness in when it rains. I think the moistness actually highlights the yellows and oranges even more.
The sunshine photos do the same though, highlighting the brilliant yellow where the sun touches the sunflower petals. It looks like there are seeds forming in the middle of the flower in the last shot. If that's what they are, they won't last long when the birds discover them there. I wonder if they can taste the difference in the "fresh from the flower" seeds and the ones we buy in the bag to fill our feeders with.

Nice to see colorful, living plants. It's been so dry in our neck of the woods, my front lawn is starting to look like a fake grizzly bear rug that was rode hard and put away dry.

Great pictures again Sharon. Your pictures of lilies look better than my real ones do. I only plant tulips and lilys but don't take very good care of them. If they were children they would be taken away from me. In the review I thought the rainbow on fire was quite interesting.

Just beautiful ~ the 2nd one in particular! The sunflowers are gorgeous too but the rain drops add interest and intensity. Very nice!

Oh how beautiful!!! I'm so sad to be seeing these beautiful flowers coming to the end of their season out here in MN. The perennial flowers have been spectacular this year, I'm sure due to the much rain we've gotten.
Thanks for sharing these. They're so very pretty!

All of them are beautiful, and I like the water drops on the flower.
