Over the weekend Keweenaw County Historical Society hosted the 8th Annual Musicfest in Gay, and we hear a fun time was had by all.

Perhaps you heard there was a big power outage in the region last Thursday. Here in the Internet side of our operations we have been chasing around the Peninsula to get everyone back 'on the 'net'. Missed out on attending this extravaganza. Maybe next year...

Yes, had read the stories about all the power outages and trees down. Was hoping all was well with our Pasty friends but knew you were probably pretty busy Charlie!!

Spent wed. night at the AmericInn, Calumet. Woke Thursday morn. without power. Left about 10:00 and drove all the way to Bruce Crossing before I found a gas station that had power. With less than a quarter tank of gas I was wondering leaving Houghton if I made a mistake leaving Calumet. The gauge was kissing E when I arrived.

FJL: You must have driven right past the BP Station in Hancock, they had power and were selling gas (must have their own generator)

FJL ~ glad you made it with some fumes to spare! Not the kind of adventure you want on a trip, is it? What a feeling of relief when you see that open gas station.

Have some friends in Ely, MN, who had 25+ trees down in their driveway after the storm. Spent a lot of time with the chain saws! But, like you, they 'lucked out' and didn't have any hit their house.

We can all be thankful for small favors!
