Remembering a famous U.P. landmark... Our thanks to Darrell Winkler for the classic view of Miner's Castle as it was seen by visitors for decades. This actually appeared as a secondary photo, but never as picture-of-the-day.
In the middle shot from the first year of the Pasty Cam we see Edie enjoying the view. That's her with the signature headband on the scenic overlook. Like everyone else, we were shocked almost 10 years later to hear the right half of this natural sculpture had plunged into the Lake.
While the video skips around to a number of U.P. landmarks, the 360 degree tour is well worth the 2 minutes, courtesy of Hello Arial.
Charlie..thanks for the pix and video from Hello Arial, that was absolutely intense. I hope this website has some DVDs available. I also remember walking out on the rock when it was still in that condition. That was back in the sixties and there were no barricades at that time...it was walk-at-your-own-risk.

Thanks Charlie!
What could be better than a video of waterfalls and lighthouses with Miner's Castle to boot? It was interesting to see the top of the rock where the other side used to be.

Thanks for posting the video. Living in Munising, we see these sights often, but to see them from the air!! It was wonderful.

Thanks for posting this, Charlie. It was awesome! I'm so sad that we won't be going there in a couple of weeks as was our plan. Sure hope it happens next year. This was the next best thing but nothing beats that boat ride and sitting down on that beautiful sandy beach.
