Kathy Archambeau took today's photos all on the same day, within a short time of each other. The sky was blue, with fluffy white clouds dotting it around noon. The other three were a short time later, as the storms clouds moved in quickly.

After walking into her kitchen and noticing that dark clouds and sky, Kathy grabbed her camera to capture the change in the weather. You can see the heavy rain falling from the clouds off in the distance and the day turned to almost night with the darkness of the clouds looming overhead. It looks like they're pretty low in the sky, too, almost like you could reach up and touch them. Just another day in the Copper Country, with the weather changing from one minute to the next. Makes for exciting weather forecasting!

Great pictures, cuz!! The weather sure has been
nasty all over. How great that you got to capture
these. I love it when you can actually see the
rain coming down far off.

We literally had a green sky last week on the 5th.
Thankfully, it held off until after the 4th. But
we had never seen skies like that. It was very
scary, to say the least, with tornado sirens going
off all over. I felt pretty safe at work, but my
hubby wound up down the basement. Not too fond of
those kinds of clouds. I prefer Kathy's.

Thanks for sharing these.

Forecasters have long said that one of the hardest areas to predict the weather is Upper Michigan and especially the Keweenaw Peninsula, simply because the Lake has such an influence on the weather. Anyone who has spent any amount of time on the Peninsula can attest to the changes that can occur in a relatively short period.

These scenes are a beauty to behold, especially the first one.

I was looking at some of my pics tonight...the
clouds have been ahhhhhhhhhmazing!

That certainly is a drastic change from the benign puffy white clouds to the ominous gray ones filled with rain. Great pictures.

Quite the weather contrast.

The weather changes make life interesting! Never could understand people wanting to live where it is sunny and hot all the time. Just not a 'palm tree' kinda person; give me the Copper Country any day!
