When it gets too hot in town, Jeff Dennis and family, with friends in tow, head out to the camp at Little Traverse Bay. With the sun sparkling off Lake Superior, the summer fun has just begun.

The kids started out with some castle building and then of course they had to wash all the sand off themselves, so in the water they went. I'd say by the look on the faces that the water may have been just a bit chilly still.

Next was a ride on the paddle boat, with Jeff doing some of the pedaling and his son helping out, too. Looks like the guys were giving the girls a good spin around the Big Lake.

In the last photo, the girls are displaying the treasures they found in a scavenger hunt on the beach. They decorated sticks with the items they found, attaching them with copper wire. Their decorations included pine cones, feathers and many other unique items. What a great way to entertain the kiddos and keep them busy for a while.

Oh what fun pictures!! How awesome to have a
cottage on Little Traverse. You can't swim at the
beach there anymore because it's all marked as
private property. But you can always head out to
Big Traverse, which is just as good. How I miss
that lake in the summer.
