Sharon Bodenus enjoys a good adventure and usually has her camera alongside her in her travels. She recently went on her first ATV ride and her comment was that it won't be the last, either. So I think that indicates that she enjoyed herself, despite a couple hours of rain as they rode the trails and what she described as mud holes that you thought you'd sink to China in!
The riders spent the night in Big Bay, at the Picture Bay Motel, which owns the piece of land overlooking the beautiful scenery in today's photos. I love the light, the shadows, the brightness of the green grass and leaves. The entire scene just radiates with peace and quietude. You can imagine there must be morning critters around there filling the quiet with their chatter and banter.

That's the best part of ATVing or snowmobiling....seeing sights you can't from a car!

Very nice...the first one looks like an oil painting.

How's Ron, Deb? When will you be able to get to the U.P.?
Capt. Paul: How could you not be counting the days? When I think of Texas today, I think of you and Dr. Nat. I guess we always think of those we "know."
Gotta get back to Big Bay, Sharon. You inspire me to do that. There's so much to do and see in the U.P.
Today I picked my first cup of blueberries of the season. Will make blueberry muffins for the morning. As I picked this afternoon, I channeled my father. The berries are much better this year than last. His heart would have been so glad. Here's to you, Dad!

Mornings are SACRED...esp in those quiet spaces. Phenomenal!
Wouldn't it be nice if someday all of the "Pasty Folks" could come together for a meeting in the Keweenaw??

BEAUTIFUL pictures.
The, very first time, I went thimbleberry picking was with my mom......as I reached for a berry I went down into a ditch. She forgot to tell me about the slopes and the ditches. I would love to do that again....miss you, mommma.

We've been lucky enough to meet you, Kosk, AND your dad!! Have met the Capt and the Dr. Had a good time at the Ambassador. Have met Mikie, Ploveabby, LizinIdaho, Kay, Cotton, and the latest one we've met is Janie. Have known Mary most of my life, and Laurie also. For us all to get together would be a wonderful time.
Kosk, I don't think we'll get up there until Sept some time. Ron's in quite a lot of pain, and got his staples removed and knee drained today. Won't even be able to drive for a while yet. Can't bend his knee very far. Has pt 3 times a week and it's not pleasant. So, we're shooting for late September.

Ron...exercise if you're able to do so, specifically...strength train, it's helped me through a lot of injuries...including knee.

Deb and Ron: On a positive note, the end of September is absolutely gorgeous. Keeping you in my prayers.
Wish we had had a chance to meet Shirley and Edie Fitz before they passed on.
