The Vietnam Traveling Wall was in Marquette this past week and when it arrived in town, there was an escort of over 200 motorcycles, along with a number of local law enforcement agencies from around the area. They traveled along US41 with people lining the sides of the road throughout Ishpeming and Negaunee and into Marquette where the Wall was set up near the Superior Dome.
That's where Gladys Collins made her visit, to honor her cousin, Willis C Rheault, who was killed in Vietnam. That's her in the fourth photo, standing near the panel that lists his name, which she's actually pointing to in the bottom photo.
If you ever get the opportunity to visit the Traveling Wall or the Washington, D.C. Wall, be sure to do so. It is a very moving experience seeing all those names and looking for the ones you know, that didn't make it back home. What a great tribute to these men and women who gave their all.

All I will say is "Bring Kleenex"....It truly is an amazing opportunity and everyone needs to see either the Traveling Wall or the Permanent one....What an amazing experience....and LOTS of tears! Thank you to our Vietnam Vets....and all our Soldiers...past, present, and hopefully not future! PS...Hi Gladys!!!

I would love to see that wall some day to pay my respects to all who died in that conflict. Thanks for sharing these. And Willie, I'll never forget when I found out that he didn't make it back. So sad!
