Eric Stewart's family has owned a cottage in Eagle Harbor for 54 years and when he sent in these photos, he said they will be the last set of shots while based there, as it has been sold. But never fear, he says it will not be his last visit to the Keweenaw!
This trip included some kayaking around the entrance to Eagle Harbor, with the lighthouse making a great background. I love the shot of Lake Superior (second photo), showing the many colors and faces of the Big Lake. It's a bit choppier than the day they were kayaking, for sure.
Next stop was at Big Traverse looking down the river. This was taken near the boat landing there, but off to the right side. If you still can't get a good perspective on the location, if Eric turned to the right, you'd be looking directly out at the "irons" and into Lake Superior.
The last photo is a familiar one around the Keweenaw right now. The Lupines are lining the roads and dotting the fields everywhere. These look to be mostly purple ones, but I think I see a few pink ones in there and several white ones, too!

The late Marjory Stoneman Douglas noted that "The Everglades is a test, if we pass, we get to keep the planet." We think our U.P. area might also fit in this category!

I enjoy the second picture with the waves splashing on the rocks.

So sorry to hear the old home place has been sold. Kinda sounds like UC's situation!
I've made a decision. Much as I love lilacs, I've decided to declare lupines my favorite flower. Looking forward to seeing them soon.

I absolutely love the 1st two pictures. Eagle Harbor is one of my favorite places in the world, and the picture of the lake is gorgeous. Sorry the house has been sold (wish I'd have been the one to buy it, though).
And, Kosk, I'm with you in your love of lupines. Ours were gorgeous this year. We didn't plant them either, they just sort of showed up. So happy they did.
