A newcomer to the Pasty Cam today, Zach Fryer, sent in these photos of the tug/barge combination, Great Lakes Trader at the Marquette Board of Light & Power Shiras Station electric plant. Zach adds that this dock is south of downtown Marquette and compared to the ore dock at the Upper Harbor, gets relatively little freighter traffic.
It's always great to see the big boats that sail Lake Superior, no matter what dock they are headed to, but neat to see this setting, since we don't see it that often. I especially like the fourth shot, as it's taken from an angle I'm not sure I've seen before at all. Freighters and Lake Superior background, it doesn't get much better than that if you're a boat nerd!

Odd effect for the notes today. Something special to celebrate PastyFest, with the parade beginning this morning at 11am :o)
