As you may know, I've been on Isle Royale on weekends over the past month, and this time on the Ferry ride over, I watched today's featured video. It's longer than most video's we've introduced, but well worth the half hour of pure Copper Country history. If the link above doesn't work, click here --> Keweenaw Crossing. Bring along some popcorn and enjoy!
Thanks to Greg Lusk for sending me the link, and to all the MDOT workers who have had a part in building, maintaining, and documenting the Lift Bridge.
Have a good week :o)

There are certainly few better ways to spend weekends, Charlie!

...and I was just thinking; without that crossing, I never would have experienced M-26 on the Wing.

I never stopped to think of the engineering that went into the construction. The check for loose rivets is clever in its simplicity. Compensating for the change in the weight of the cable by the chains is something that would have been easy to overlook. I'll have to look for the chains next trip. Thank you for an educational and entertaining 30 minutes.
