OK, this confirms my suspicion all along that Donna MacIntosh is a "critter whisperer". We've featured photos from the bird feeding station in her backyard before, with all sorts of birds, including Pileated Woodpeckers and flocks of turkeys. She has had chipmunks she can pet, fighting squirrels and now this little fox!

Donna said she noticed something outside, so she went to take a closer look and found this little fox eating sunflower seeds off the ground that she throws out there especially for the ground feeders. Since he's started visiting, Donna has been throwing a few puppy biscuits out at night for him and then she watches for him to show up for dinner at dusk or a bit later. She said he grabs his biskys and is just so cute sitting there chowing down.

It amazes me the variety of visitors Donna gets in her backyard. Somehow, all these critters know they're safe with her, so they must spread the word in the woods. A few years back, when Donna lived at another location down the road from where she now is, she had a little fox coming in for biskys there, too and he became so comfortable that he brought his mate and then they brought their baby, too. She says she LOVES these critters and I'd have to say they must LOVE her too!

Nice guest to add to the A list. Interesting black color interspersed on his back and tail. Some time ago back in my working days there were several foxes on Isle Royale that were all black. I only recall seeing them for 5 or 6 years. According to what I read they are a color phase of the red fox.

Oh my gosh!! He is too cute!! If I didn't have
cats to worry about, I'd love to see them hanging

Very nice photos! We sometimes saw red foxes at our old place in Red Jacket Shaft, and arctic foxes back in Norway. I miss seeing all the nice wild beasties.

Hey, I just realized that today is a palindrome:
6-16-16. How cool is that? Moon sure looked nice as I was riding around on the Cub Cadet. A large jet left a vapor trail almost across the moon. The plane was white as the sun was shining on it.
(Don't know if I'll ever get caught up with lawn mowing this summer.)

Every day this week is a palindrome!!
