Lisa Normand was here UP North recently and did some exploring around the area, from L’Anse/Baraga to the shores of Lake Superior further north. Some of the scenes she shares here today are ones you’ll recognize, some maybe not.
We start near Point Isabelle on the Gay/Lac La Belle road, with a fallen tree, roots and all, being washed clean of bark and anything else by Lake Superior’s rolling waves. Then a stop at Great Sand Bay, beach walking and checking out the rocks that shine with the Big Lake wetness.
Then back to Bete Grise and Mendota channel for some calm water kayaking. This is one of the most peaceful places to put your kayak in and just slowly paddle along. A great place to observe the wildlife, too, as it’s sheltered from the big waves and there are so many little quiet bays and crannies to explore.
The last stop today with Lisa, is at a falls in the L’Anse/Baraga area, the Ogemaw Falls. Another one that I’ve not had the opportunity to visit yet, so it’s always nice to see the preview of the real thing right here on the Pasty Cam. These falls are located on the Baraga Plains, near the old prison camp. For more details on how to get there, click on the following link: Ogemaw Falls.

Great set of pictures. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I love the waterfalls picture. They are my favorite. I suspect there was at least one waterfalls in the Garden Of Eden.
