Judy Byykkonen and friends recently hiked along Lake Superior's shores in Sedar Bay. They were actually hiking in the Black Creek Nature Sanctuary, which is a 242 acre sanctuary maintained by the Michigan Nature Association. The area boasts of sand dunes, beaver ponds, a variety of trees and 1,500 feet of Lake Superior shoreline. Judy gives us a small sampling of some of those views.
It sure looks like a beautiful and serene place to spend some time enjoying nature and the glory of the Lake Superior shoreline. Judy said her hiking excursion this day included a five mile hike and of course the beauty the ladies were treated to along the way. I especially love the Lady Slipper. Such a treasure when you come across one in the woods.
WOW...spectacular! "Beam me up, Judy".

Very nice pictures and sanctuary.
What is the story behind the different spellings of Sedar/Cedar/Ceder Bay? I think Ceder must be a misspelling but I've seen both Sedar and Cedar in several places.

There is also another spelling, seedar, as in "See dar, a ship passes..."
