You don't know how happy I am to be giving this quick update from my housekeeping cabin on Isle Royale. As you know from last week, I'm here on a mission to bring bandwidth 55.6 miles across Lake Superior to the top of the Rock Harbor water tower. We have been plagued with bad weather both weekends, but it has suddenly cleared up this evening.

One of my all-time favorite daily photos on the Pasty Cam was back in '02, when Jonathan and his buddies had a walking bachelor party here on the Island. This photo made it into the Pasty Cam Calendar the next year, and I hung one of these by my desk. Maybe I'll get to meet this creature while I'm here :o) Let's see... he would be 14 years older now (and so am I for that matter)

I've been filming some of the work in getting broadband service established here. Looks like I'll be back again next weekend, praying for better weather to finish the job.

Charlie, compared to most folks, you have a dream job - your commute is making the crossing across Lake Superior on a vessel (Nice!), then working in that beautiful natural environment, no cement building, cubicle, or boss. Hey! No wonder you're happy!! Peace & Blessings!!
