Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 - 08:50 am:

Here we are at another end of the month and our long standing tradition of pausing with a sunset/sunrise photo to remember those of our friends and loved ones who have gone on before us. Today we recall:

Keith Codere
Jack Dupuis
Martin "Mort" McGrath
Joyce Messner
Gregory Smith
Servicemen and women who have given their all

We here at Pasty Central wish to extend our sincere sympathy to all that have lost someone special in their lives. And as always, please feel free to add the names of those you'd like remembered on these pages.

Special thanks to Mary Schmitt for today's beautiful memorial sunset photo.

Cycle of Life

"Let children walk with Nature, let them see
the beautiful blendings and communions of death
and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as
taught in woods and meadows, plains and
mountains and streams of our blessed star, and
they will learn that death is stingless indeed,
and as beautiful as life."
~John Muir

"For what is it to die, but to stand in the sun
and melt into the wind?"
~Kahlil Gibran

Today's Affirmation

I am an expression of the One and part of the
cycle of life.

Today's Meditation

Sweet Spirit of Life,

Thank You for the children born today and the
ongoing progression of life. May we learn from
them and care for them wisely. May we honor
these souls who have come into our world.
Multiply our joy and celebration of each one.
Thank You also for each person who is leaving
this planet. Friends, family, lovers and
strangers alike—we are better for having
traveled together for a while. Comfort us in
our grief and sorrow. Every ending is also a
beginning and every beginning an ending. We are
part of the cycle of life. So it is.
Amen

By D. A. (Midwested) on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 - 06:38 pm:

Three years ago I lost my wife Kellie. After spending much of her adult life with a failing liver she received a transplant from a teenage boy from Iowa and was able to live an additional 17 years, long enough to witness and participate in our 7 year old son becoming a man.

So many thanks to all the organ donors and their families.

Rembering my mother, Lillian Hopp of Cheboygan, who
passed away five years ago on May 1.

Thinking about a friend of mine who lost her
husband to cancer this month. My heart aches for
her and her family as they try to get through this
all.

Also remembering Steve Bashaw who passed away 5
years ago, also from cancer. His was caused by
that dreaded Agent Orange when he served in
Vietnam. He's one of those brave souls who,
ultimately, gave his all. God bless him and every
other soldier who died for their country

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 - 01:16 pm:

Steve Bashaw's death caused by Agent Orange definitely means that
he should be honored on Memorial Day. He gave his all over and
over again.

By Stephanie (Stefani13) on Thursday, June 2, 2016 - 11:17 am:

My Uncle Eddie Mattson, who was reunited with many loved ones on Mother's Day after 93 years on this earth. RIP.
