Headed to the Central U.P. with Bob Gilreath and his wife Liz, to check out the O-Kun-De-Kun Falls over in Ontonagon County. They first hiked in to the upper falls and took the boardwalk over the swampy areas to get there. Then the next trek was to the lower falls, where Bob spotted a twisted set of trees along the way, that were quite unique.

The last three photos Bob shares here today are of the Baltimore River and the bridge that crosses over it. The O-Kun-De-Kun Falls is on the Baltimore. It sure is a neat bridge over the river. I wouldn't mind checking this place out and crossing that bridge, too. Can you say, "Road Trip?"

year there is a 100 mile hiking badge available.
you can hike as little or as much as you want even
same sections as long as its 100 miles. go the tot
North country trail association page to sign up, it
stretches from North Dakota to vermont

The second photo reminds me of the old Drifters song "Under the Boardwalk", although one likely won't find a sandy beach under that boardwalk anytime soon. Dr. Nat and I will be in the UP (and LP) this summer to continue a project we're doing so we're already looking forward to that, although we have another trip coming in a couple weeks; our 15th wedding anniversary in Hawaii....

Well, to clear things up, our actual anniversary is tomorrow (May 14), but with work schedules, we had to wait until over Memorial Day week to go. Still, we are both really really looking forward to it.
