Donna MacIntosh continues to amaze me with the action she has going on at her backyard feeders in Baraga. Today's Pasty Cam guests are two red squirrels, who Donna reports do not like to share. You can see in the sequence of her photos that these two are not going to back down from each other, even though there is plenty of food there for everyone. My favorite shot is the second photo, with them both up on just their back feet, getting ready to pounce on each other. That's a great capture for sure!

It's pretty neat that she was able to photograph the squirrel squabble from beginning to end like this, although Donna didn't report whether there was a final victor or if they called a truce after the last photo and decided to share the goodies. Maybe she'll chime in here and let us know what the outcome finally was.

Hence, the term 'squirrely'.

It makes no diff to them...they'll tumble around
and each go their separate ways...as long as
there's something to eat...they are IN!! The
squirrels here are huge...they are messy...and
they are HILARIOUS!!

chewing holes in the sauna ceiling,stealing bird
seed from the feeder,building nests under the car
hood,having babies in the wall of the house.....

Sometimes she's just gotta let you know.... she really is the BOSS, and does wear the pants in the family!! lol Great shots!!

New to us since we moved ten years ago to the "U. P." Had only experienced when camping in Smokey Mountains, Appalachia area. They called them "Boomers". Quite familiar with now, fiesty critters, have found nest of babies in bird houses.
Still call them "Boomers", never tire of their antics
