Judy Byykkonen rarely goes for a walk in the woods near her home in the Keweenaw by herself. Most days she's accompanied by one or more of her five dogs. She says she sometimes feels like a professional dog walker. With handling that many at one time, I bet she could start her own school to train others interested in walking numbers of dogs at once.
The day she was out snapping these peaceful shots of the reflections she encountered on her woods walk, she had at least four of her four-legged family members along. They're always sniffing things out and amusing Judy with their antics. I thought it interesting that they found small forest ponds still frozen, while other spots were completely melted, creating reflections as clear as looking in a mirror. And of course in the far reaches of the woodland areas, where the sun doesn't quite make it through, you can still find a few patches of snow, which Judy's pups enjoyed while she snapped these photos.

"My bias runs toward natural things. i try to make the grays I see favor them. I am favorably disposed toward rainforests, beavers, razorback ridges, slickrock canyons, tundra plains, barrier beaches, live oaks, and dead snags. And--I have nothing but the greatest measure of contempt for the bureaucrats and bottom-liners who would spoil these things."

Great pictures of spring winning it's battle over winter. Cattails and clover are on the way. That first picture would be a doozy of a picture puzzle.

I like Duane's thinking. I love jigsaw puzzles. If I had a jigsaw puzzle of every pic I liked at pasty.com, I'd need a house solely for the puzzles!

And the Scottie is the Scoutmaster. Kipp and myself have been enjoying our walks to the near by woodlands, but the ticks, poison ivy, and nettles are claiming back the area.
