Brenda Leigh had some beachcombing time on the Lake Superior shores in Brimley recently. Her photos show the ice is receding and with the icicles hanging, you can tell there's been melting each day.
Sure is nice to see the rocks becoming exposed, but check out the third photo, something else was discovered by Brenda there. She said at first she thought it was a colored stone and went to pick it up, but looked closer first and noticed it was moving. It must have been in a semi-dormant stage from the cold weather. Brenda's observation then, was that soon the mosquitoes will follow. Oh boy…
No fear of that happening quite yet though, thanks to Mother Nature continuing to send us more snow every few days still. Brenda's bottom photo shows how just a few days after her beachcombing, winter returned again. I hear the temperatures are supposed to be in the 50's and 60's by the end of the week, though, so maybe spring will come and stay soon!

Nice pictures of Old Man Winter leaving at his own chosen speed. I too think the last pictures is a thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Transition from Winter to Spring, and I also like the reflection of the snowy trees on the water.

Thanks to all for the nice compliments. I really do miss viewing pasty.com daily. I use to always go there first in the early morning to check out the great stories and photos of the U.P. Sometimes I am tardy by two weeks or so. I would like to thank all those who view our photos and are in attendance everyday.

That last short is gorgeous. I like to see it in true black and white and high resolution.

Just saw that Chassell made the Weather Channel Daily six-pack at No. 6 for "snow golf"!
