Dorothy Jamison's nephew, Riley came UP North to the Keweenaw snow country for his Spring Break and with friends, Amy and Keedin in tow, they found plenty to do in the snow we still have on the ground.

That's Riley in the first photo, on their snowshoe hike up Mt. Baldy in Eagle Harbor…as you can see, there was an open creek running across their trail, but that didn't stop these adventurers.

Their next activity was to build a snow-bunny on a still frozen Gratiot Lake, but not just any snow-bunny, this one they dubbed the Ice-ter Bunny! The boys then did a bit of sunbathing while waiting for some fun times knee-boarding around Lake Gratiot behind the Ranger.

Next on the agenda was another snowshoe adventure, this time hiking up to the Gratiot Lake overlook. Nice view of the lake through the leafless trees there and even nicer being able to see the boy's faces and Dorothy's, too. Love those rosy cheeks!

And of course no Spring Break would be complete without a trip to the beach, so Dorothy took Riley to the shores of Lake Superior before he had to head back to Illinois. I bet he had the most unique "What I did on Spring Break" story to share with everyone when they went back to school!

That young man had a very fun filled spring break thanks to his Aunt. That is one he will remember for a long time.
